Pastor Rebecca Makayi has been preaching since she was a teenager. She is a multi-gifted leader who has served as a spiritual director, revivalist, teacher, evangelist, and counselor. She is the Senior Pastor of Praise Covenant International Church, which has branches in St Paul, Minnesota, and Harare, Zimbabwe. Pastor Rebecca is the founder and president of the Immigrant Women Coalition in the United States. She is the founder of Mother's Heart, a non-profit organization based in Zimbabwe, Africa. This is a charity that focuses on orphaned children in Zimbabwe, because of HIV/AIDS and now these children are raising their families without adult supervision or care.
Pastor Rebecca holds a diploma in Christian Leadership and Biblical Studies, as well as a bachelor's degree in Human Services and Psychology. She earned a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and a Master of Arts in Christian thought (MACT). She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree at Bethel University.
Pastor Rebecca has 37 years of experience in Christian leadership. The Assemblies of God Africa, where she grew up before and after marriage, recognized and nourished the anointing and calling on her life, and appointed her to several roles and positions within the church, including Sunday school teacher, youth leader, women ministry, and girl’s ministry leadership. Since her marriage, they have been mentoring couples, alongside her husband Archibald, with whom she has been married for 29 years. Nash and Michelle, the couple's two children, were born into the union. She has traveled extensively in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, teaching the gospel of God's Kingdom, and encouraging people to find God's original intent for their lives. She encourages people to discover the why of their existence in this world.
