For a long time I have wondered in my life, who am I. I have thought of so many definitions, I have heard people define me and my parents tell me who they thought I was. As I grew in the Lord, I struggled to understand who I really was and why was I born on earth. I asked my pastor to help me understand myself but the more I asked the more I became confused. I became sick and tired of being prophesied over and being defined by other people about who I really was. In search of my identity one day I felt led to read the first chapter of the book of Genesis.
Genesis 1:26-28 (NKJV)
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
This gave me an understanding about the creation of mankind. Looking at the word man in (Hebrew), I realized that it was a plural meaning (species). Therefore the name (man) was given by God as a species he had created for himself. I understood that God created man who is spirit with the likeness or with God mold characteristics or nature. This enlightened my understanding that God is a spirit and he created man who is also a spirit, who lives in a house called body or flesh, which was made from the dust of the earth or (humus or dirt). This spirit man was created, and Hebrew meaning is (bara) meaning to form from nothing. God created man (spirit) without any gender; he is neither male nor female. This is the true image of God, when he (spirit man) leaves the body, automatically the becomes illegal to live on this earth, therefore it has to go back to the dust (humus) where it came from, therefore we bury the body six feet down.
This spirit man also has to go back where he came from; therefore there is a separation of spirit and body. God could not send his image without a body to live on earth. He needed a human body so that he could operate using this body on earth. This understanding made me realize how important a human body was on earth. Therefore it is very important to let all mankind understand where they came from and who they truly are. We are not defined by designer labels we buy and wear, neither are we defined by the money we have in our bank accounts, or the houses, mansions we live in or the cars that we drive, neither are we defined by our education. A human being is defined by his maker who created him and allowed him (man/spirit) to come and live on this earth, so Let it be known to all man that you are spirit who lives in a body or house called male or female.
God’s original plan was to establish a family of spirit sons, and not servants, he gave man a kingdom and not a religious organization, and he made man to be kings as he is the King of all kings. God wanted a relationship with man and his intention was to extend his heavenly government on this earth, and that we human beings would influence earth and impact the earth with his will, lifestyle, culture and purpose.
With this spiritual illumination, we Praise Covenant Ministries accepted the assignment to teach God’s original plan and intent for humanity. It is our earthly mandate to empower people to rediscover their true identity, purpose, potential and their assignment on this earth. The Kingdom message is our focus because it is the only thing God gave to man after creation. Therefore God’s Kingdom is our agenda on this planet earth.
